Spring Newsletter 2026
Growth, Health, and New Beginnings in Uganda
This season has been full of meaningful progress at Heart 2 Heart, and as we look back over the past few months, we are filled with gratitude for all that God is doing in Rushaga Village—through each and every one of you.
Because of your support, we are seeing lives change in real and lasting ways. Sometimes those changes come through simple things—a meal, a desk, a pair of shoes—but they carry deep impact, bringing hope, dignity, and opportunity to the children and families we serve.
We truly could not do this without you, and we are so thankful for the role you play in this mission.
We also want to take a moment to wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Your love, care, and support—both within your own families and extended to these children across the world—are a beautiful reflection of God’s heart.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
— 1 John 3:18
Looking Ahead: December Mission Trip
As we look toward the end of the year, we are preparing for our next mission trip to Uganda:
December 17, 2026 – January 10, 2027
This trip is always one of the most meaningful times for us—being there in person, spending time with the children, encouraging the staff, and seeing firsthand what God is continuing to build.
During this trip, we plan to:
Spend time directly with the children and families
Provide needed items and support while we are there
Encourage and strengthen the Heart 2 Heart team on the ground
Caring for the Health of Every Child
This spring, we were able to carry out a general medical check-up for all 65 Batwa and vulnerable children at the Heart 2 Heart Child Development Center.
Each child received:
Deworming treatment
Essential multivitamins
A basic health evaluation
These small but powerful steps help strengthen their immunity, support healthy growth, and keep them active and ready to learn.
We are committed to making this a regular initiative, ensuring that every child stays healthy, strong, and full of life.
Basic Health Needs
Every gift—whether through prayer or financial support—helps make this mission possible.
Expanding the Heart 2 Heart Community Clinic
We are in the process of establishing a new, larger location for the Heart 2 Heart Community Clinic.
This will allow us to:
Serve more children and families
Provide more consistent medical care
Continue outreach in the surrounding community
Seeing the clinic grow is a powerful reminder that what started small is becoming something that will serve generations.
Food, Farming & Family Support
We continue to focus on practical, sustainable ways to support families.
This season included:
Pigs distributed to parent homes to provide income and food
Ongoing gardening projects to help feed the children
Expansion of our agricultural efforts
One of the most exciting developments is our coffee project:
150 coffee trees have already been planted
The goal is to grow to 10,000 trees
Planted on widows’ land to create long-term income
This project has the potential to transform entire families out of poverty. Coffee trees can be donated for just $1 each—an affordable way to help provide long-term income and stability for families.
Solar Power & New Infrastructure
We are excited to share that the teachers and staff now have an office with solar power. This has already made a big difference in daily operations and communication.
We also completed:
Installation of solar panels
Construction of a water tank and base
Improved access to clean water at the Child Development Center
These improvements are not just upgrades—they are long-term solutions that bring stability and sustainability to the school and clinic.
Julius Looking Ahead: Serving Beyond Uganda
Julius will soon be stepping into a season of community service. He has been in School for 9 months in University Kenya.
Please keep Julius in your prayers as he serves in these communities.
Vocational Training & New Opportunities
We were able to purchase a second sewing machine, which is already being used to train students in practical skills.
In addition, our Workshop Technology Practice program is providing hands-on learning through a four-week rotation:
Electrical Installation
Renewable Energy (Solar)
3D Modeling and Carpentry
Fabrication, Welding, and Plumbing
These are real, usable skills that give young people the ability to build a future for themselves.
Daily Life at the School
So many meaningful things are happening in the everyday life of the school:
New desks have been received and are being used by the students
A new cookhouse has been built
Visitors were able to provide shoes for all children and staff
Pastor Denis continues to teach chapel daily, pouring into the children spiritually
Each of these things may seem simple, but together they are creating a place where children are cared for, supported, and encouraged.
A Thank You for the Desk Project
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave toward the desk project.
Because of your generosity, our children now have proper desks to sit at, write on, and learn from each day. What may seem like a simple item has made a meaningful difference in the classroom—bringing more focus, comfort, and dignity to their learning environment.
Seeing the children seated, engaged, and equipped is a direct result of your kindness.
We are so grateful for each of you who helped make this possible.
A Special Connection from Grants Pass
One of the most touching moments this season was a letter sent from a student at Rogue Christian Academy in Grants Pass to a child at Heart 2 Heart.
This simple act reminds us that this work is not just about programs—it’s about connection, relationship, and shared hope across the world.
Letters Across the World
This season, our children in Uganda had the opportunity to write back to students at Rogue Christian Academy in Grants Pass. What started as a simple exchange has become something very meaningful. For our children, it’s a reminder that they are seen, cared for, and connected to others across the world.
We are so thankful for this special connection and the encouragement it brings to both groups of children.
Gratitude
We want to say thank you.
Because of your support:
Children are receiving medical care
Families are gaining tools to provide for themselves
Students are learning practical life skills
The community is growing stronger every day
We truly could not do this without you.
If you have been part of this journey, thank you for standing with us.
If you are considering getting involved, we would love for you to be part of what God is doing here.
Whether through giving, attending an event, or simply sharing this story—you are helping build something that is changing lives.

Sharing the Story: Vineyard Church
We are grateful for the opportunity to continue partnering with our local community here at home. This Sunday, May 3rd, we will be at Vineyard Church sharing about the upcoming fundraiser. At the fundraiser will be sharing about everything God is doing through Heart 2 Heart in Uganda.
This is a meaningful time for us to connect the local community in Grants Pass directly to the lives being impacted in Rushaga Village, especially among the Batwa children.
If you attend Vineyard, we would love for you to join us. And if not, we truly appreciate your continued prayers as we share this story and invite others to be part of what God is doing.
